Meeting Real-World Challenges in Cardiovascular Disease Risk Management: A Pan-European Crowdsourcing Activity

You will appreciate the important role clinical guidelines play in the practice of medicine. However, current guidelines often prove difficult to implement in day-to-day practice. For cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention, major risk factors remain undertreated1,2, and despite major advances in non-statin pharmacological approaches, patient outcomes have not been improved along the same trajectory. This implies that newer and more effective agents are currently underutilised. In order to understand the main barriers precluding the optimal use of these agents, we are seeking input from both primary and secondary care healthcare professionals who manage those at increased CVD risk, to identify how to foster a coordinated response to diagnosing and managing patients according to their risk profile3,4.

To achieve this, Radcliffe Medical Education is taking a novel crowdsourcing approach to pool the insight and practices of physicians from across Europe – the findings of which will be presented in a CME-accredited webinar and form the basis of future educational interventions aimed at mobilising more effective management.

To help shape this we are looking to recruit a broad spectrum of prescribers from Europe to complete this survey. Interested participants should:

  • currently manage patients with hypercholesterolemia
  • be able to prescribe statin and non-statin therapy
